Packing list

Cruise packing list

A cruise packing list: swimwear, dinner outfits, motion-sickness remedies, a day bag for ports and documents you need to board — grouped and printable.

54 items7 days · warm (around 72–82°F / 22–28°C) · flying to the port · one adult

A cruise is a beach trip, a dinner party and several city days in one bag. Your cabin is small, so the goal is outfits that do double duty.

This list assumes a warm-weather week at sea. Check your cruise line’s dress code and its list of prohibited items before you pack.

How to use this list

Start a day or two before you leave and pack one category at a time, ticking items off as they go in the bag — your ticks are saved in this browser. Quantities follow the trip above: clothes scale with the number of days, with a little extra for spares. Travelling longer, in different weather or with more people? Open the list in Wayfold and it recalculates for your dates, the forecast and everyone travelling.

Packing tips

  1. 1

Keep documents, medication and a swimsuit in your carry-on — checked bags can take hours to reach your cabin.

  2. 2

Pack motion-sickness tablets even if you don’t usually need them.

  3. 3

A lanyard or card holder keeps your cruise card handy on and off the ship.

  4. 4

Many cruise lines restrict items such as surge protectors and irons — check the line’s own rules.
