1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Quantum Synergy ([Quantum Synergy legal name, registered address]) (“Wayfold”, “we”, “us”) for the Wayfold apps for iPhone and Android, our website and these support pages (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
If you got Wayfold from the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; Apple is not responsible for the Service or its support, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms apply to the download. The apps contain no in-app purchases: Wayfold Pro is sold only on our website, through our reseller Paddle (see section 6).
2. Who can use Wayfold
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account. Wayfold is not directed at children. Parents may add details of children travelling with them to plan a trip.
3. The service and your account
Wayfold helps you build packing lists, plan itineraries and manage the logistics of a trip. You can use it without an account; your data then stays on your phone. An account adds sync and sharing. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your phone and email secure. Some features — sync, sharing, weather, place search, flight status, email import and AI — need an internet connection. We may change, add or remove features; if we remove a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
The documents vault is stored only on your phone, encrypted. We never receive it and can’t recover it, so keep your own copies of important documents.
4. Travel and entry information is general guidance, not legal advice
Packing suggestions, weather, opening hours, travel times, flight status, airline bag and liquid limits, exchange rates and entry requirements (passport validity, visas and travel authorisations such as the US ESTA, the UK ETA, Canada’s eTA or the EU’s ETIAS) are provided for convenience. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. They are general guidance, not legal advice, and not immigration, medical or other professional advice. Entry rules and airline policies change often. Always check the official government source, your airline and your booking provider before you travel. You are responsible for having the right documents, authorisations and luggage for your trip.
5. Food, diet and allergy information
Food guides, dish descriptions, “contains” labels (for example pork, alcohol or common allergens), halal and vegetarian ease, tap-water advice, nearby restaurants and chains, and the translated diet and allergy card are general guidance based on typical recipes and third-party data. Recipes, ingredients and kitchens differ, and translations may be imperfect. They are not medical advice and don’t guarantee that any food is safe for you. Always confirm ingredients and allergens with the restaurant and carry any medication you need. If you have a severe allergy, follow your doctor’s advice.
6. Wayfold Pro, subscriptions and the free trial
- Free plan. The free plan has no time limit and includes a small number of AI generations each month.
- Plans. Wayfold Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Pro is sold only on our website, on the Upgrade page; the apps don’t sell it. The price, billing period and what is included are shown before you pay. Prices are listed in US dollars and British pounds; checkout may show your local currency and the tax that applies where you live.
- Payment through Paddle. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: it takes payment, issues your receipt or invoice, handles sales tax and VAT, and handles customer service inquiries and returns for the payment. When you buy, you also agree to Paddle’s buyer terms. We never see your card or bank details.
- Your account. Pro is linked to the Wayfold account email you sign in with on the Upgrade page. To use Pro in the app, sign in to Wayfold with the same email, on any of your devices.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and the payment method you used is charged at renewal, until you cancel. If the price goes up, we or Paddle will tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Free trial. The monthly and yearly plans include a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. You add a payment method at the start but aren’t charged during the trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. Lifetime has no trial.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time on the Upgrade page: sign in with your account email and choose Manage billing to open Paddle’s billing portal, where you can also change your payment method and download invoices. You can also email us and we will cancel it for you. After you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you aren’t charged again. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; deleting your Wayfold account does (see section 14).
- Refunds. If you’re not happy, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase of a plan by emailing us; refunds are paid back through Paddle to the original payment method. After that, renewals and later periods are not refundable, except where the law requires. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights, including any right of UK and EU consumers to cancel a digital-content purchase where it applies.
- Lifetime. A Lifetime purchase unlocks Pro for as long as we offer the Service, for the Wayfold account it was bought with. There are no renewals.
- Earlier store purchases. Pro bought earlier through the App Store or Google Play is still honoured on the account it was linked to, under that store’s terms for renewals, cancellation and refunds.
7. AI-generated content
Some features use artificial intelligence (Claude, by Anthropic) to suggest packing items, draft itineraries, write food guides and “things to do”, find places in text you paste, and read bookings from emails, PDFs or screenshots. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date — for example a place may be closed, a time may be off, or a booking detail may be misread. AI-generated content is labelled, and you should review it before relying on it, especially imported booking times and dates. Don’t submit content you don’t have the right to share.
8. Your content
You own the trips, lists, notes and other content you create. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it only to run the Service for you and the people you share it with. You are responsible for what you add and for having the right to share it, including information about other travellers and emails you forward to your import address.
9. Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- break the law or infringe other people’s rights, including their privacy;
- add other people’s personal data to a trip without a good reason, or share a trip with people who shouldn’t see it;
- upload malware, or try to access accounts, trips or systems you’re not allowed to;
- scrape, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
- abuse AI features, invite links or email import — for example by sending spam to an import address or trying to make the AI produce harmful content;
- resell the Service or use it to build a competing product.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and limit usage to keep the Service fair and affordable.
10. Partner and affiliate links
“Find flights”, “Find hotels” and “Find car hire” open searches on partner sites such as Skyscanner, Booking.com and Rentalcars.com. These are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you, and they are marked “Partner link” in the app. Any booking is a contract between you and the partner or travel provider, under their terms and privacy policy. We don’t sell travel, aren’t a party to those bookings and aren’t responsible for partners’ prices, availability or service.
11. Other third-party services
The Service links to and relies on third parties such as government websites, airlines, Apple Maps and Google Maps, weather and place data providers, Apple and Google for sign-in, and Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record for Pro purchases on our website (Paddle’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment). We aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
12. Our intellectual property
The Service, including the app, templates, curated guides, design and the Wayfold name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information in it is accurate or complete, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed flights, denied boarding or entry, fees, lost items, or reactions to food. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Wayfold in the 12 months before the claim and US$50 (or £50).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law — such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — or your statutory rights as a consumer, including in the UK and EU.
14. Ending your use
You can stop using Wayfold and delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account, or request deletion on the web. Deleting your account automatically cancels an active Pro subscription bought on our website through Paddle, so you aren’t charged again; it doesn’t refund the current period, except under section 6. A subscription bought earlier through the App Store or Google Play must still be cancelled in that store. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop offering the Service; where we reasonably can, we’ll give notice and a chance to export your data.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have jurisdiction. If you live in the UK or the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live and may bring claims in your local courts. [US users: add dispute-resolution terms if required.] Before starting a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we’ll give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can stop using it and delete your account.
