Packing list

Travelling with a baby: packing list

This travelling with a baby: packing list is a printable checklist. With a baby, the list gets long fast, and running out of diapers (nappies) in a new place is no one’s idea of a holiday. Quantities matter.

This list covers five days for two adults and an infant. Wayfold scales diapers and outfits by the day, so a longer trip updates the numbers for you.

How to use this list

Start a day or two before you leave and pack one category at a time, ticking items off as they go in the bag — your ticks are saved in this browser. Quantities follow the trip above: clothes scale with the number of days, with a little extra for spares. Travelling longer, in different weather or with more people? Open the list in Wayfold and it recalculates for your dates, the forecast and everyone travelling.

Packing tips

  1. 1

Pack a full change of clothes for the baby — and a top for you — in the cabin bag.

  2. 2

Formula, breast milk and baby food are usually allowed through airport security in reasonable quantities; check your airport’s rules.

  3. 3

Many airlines let you check a stroller and car seat free; ask your airline before you fly.

  4. 4

Bring the comfort toy you can’t replace, and a spare if you have one.
