What to pack for Morocco

Morocco is hot and dry in summer, especially inland in Marrakech and the desert, and mild in winter, when nights get cold and the Atlas Mountains see snow. The Atlantic coast is milder and breezier all year.

That is the long-term pattern, not a forecast. Weather in any given week can be warmer, colder or wetter than usual, so check the forecast a few days before you leave — Wayfold does this automatically and adjusts the packing list for your actual dates.

Pack with Morocco in mind

  • Loose, light clothing that covers shoulders and knees
  • A warm layer for cold desert and mountain nights
  • Comfortable shoes for medina alleys
  • A scarf for sun, dust and visits to religious sites

Dress code: Modest clothing is appreciated, especially outside beach resorts. Most mosques are not open to non-Muslim visitors.
